Accommodation at Hôtel de Milan in Bourg d’Oisans - European 3 Star accommodation right at the ‘foot’ of Alpe d’Huez or in The Pyrenees, a 16th Century Guest House, fully refurbished and tastefully modernised, just outside of Lourdes and with an outstanding view from the pool, of the mighty Col du Tourmalet
The Hotel De Milan was built in 1936 and has now been owned and operated by the same family for the past 32 years. Significant renovations have been made recently in order to change some hotel rooms into apartments. The original façade of the hotel has been maintained and none of the charm lost. Rooms have been renovated below the hotel to make way for a secure bike storage, a bike workshop and free laundry facilities.
Cami de Bidale, in the Pyrenees is also a family run property, personally restored by the owners and lovingly maintained to keep the resemblance of the old world, but ensure that modern facilities are all at hand. It to has an outstanding pool, bike storage, workshop and relaxation terrace such as you have never seen before!
Other facilities at the hotel include;• A private outdoor pool at each destination• Quiet terraces, reserved for hotel guests• A washing station for your bike and laundry facilities• Free Wi-Fi• A gym/yoga
Another unique feature of Hotel is its wonderful old elevator, it runs up the centre of the main staircase and has been beautifully maintained.
Breakfast and Evening Meals* Group breakfast is supplied each day in the hotel/guest house restaurant prior to the days adventures. The breakfast is a buffet of cereals, fruits, pastries and continental style breakfast. A 3 or 4 course meal is provided for the group each evening in the hotel restaurant, *except on one evening during the tour. One evening is kept as a free choice so you can enjoy a meal at one of the local restaurants either as a group or as a couple. There are a few great restaurants in town that provide varied meals in different settings. The cost of this meal is not included in the trip costs. Lunch is not provided. We will be in different locations each day and will stop off at local cafes during our rides for lunch. During the longer rides (Col du Galibier & Col de la Croix de Fer) the support team will have refreshments at the rest stops to make sure you get to the top in great shape to enjoy the amazing views of the French Alpes and celebrate your achievement, and the same applies in the Pyrenees, with the longer rides also being supported by a vehicle.
